While driving around a new plaza off Athens Highway, I noticed a fresh “PILATES” sign outside announcing the upcoming opening of Core Healing and Wellness Studio.

Intrigued, I reached out to the owner, LA Hill-Hannah, to learn more about her vision and to share her story with our community.
When I arrived for the interview, the exterior upgrades and vibrant signage immediately caught my eye. Each detail seemed thoughtfully designed, reflecting a deep care for her venture. A closer look revealed signs for offerings like an infrared sauna, meditation, pilates, and something I had never encountered before—an oxygen bar. My curiosity grew as I waited to be let in.
LA greeted me warmly and invited me inside, where the studio’s inviting layout left me impressed. Polished wooden floors, neatly arranged Pilates equipment, and thoughtfully divided spaces for meditation and wellness services created an environment that was both calming and inspiring.

From Corporate HR to Wellness Pioneer
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, LA Hill-Hannah moved to Georgia five years ago after a 15-year career in corporate human resources. Though successful, she felt drawn toward health and wellness, eventually deciding to align her professional life with her passion. Her personal journey, which included facing weight gain and physical discomfort in her 40s, led her to discover the transformative power of Pilates.
“I came here to live in my purpose and meaning,” LA explained. “Everything I do revolves around health and wellness. It’s about more than just physical fitness; it’s about healing energy and spirit.”
Her transition into wellness has been nearly a decade in the making, culminating in the creation of Core Healing and Wellness Studio.
The Core of Wellness
As LA shared during our conversation, the studio’s name reflects its central philosophy: focusing on core strength through Pilates while embracing a holistic approach to wellness. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced Pilates practitioner, Core offers a welcoming space for all.
“Pilates is all about your core,” LA said. “You use your core in every exercise, and it should feel smooth and natural—not something you have to strain or struggle to do.”

The studio provides three class levels—novice, proficient, and pro—to ensure everyone feels supported on their wellness journey. Beyond Pilates, Core Healing and Wellness offers unique services, including:
- Infrared Sauna: A therapy that promotes detoxification, relaxation, and improved circulation.
- Meditation Space: Designed for mental clarity and emotional balance.
- Oxygen Bar: A rejuvenating experience that enhances energy and overall wellness.
A Community-Centered Vision
LA’s vision for the studio extends beyond fitness. She hopes Core will become a community hub where people can connect, learn, and grow in their health journeys. Future plans include workshops, wellness events, and collaborations that encourage inclusivity and inspire healthy habits across all ages and backgrounds.
“When you walk in here, I want you to feel like time slows down. This is a place where you can pause, enjoy the moment, and take care of yourself,” LA said.
The location of Core Healing and Wellness Studio in Loganville—a community with limited options for Pilates—positions it as a pioneer in promoting holistic health.
Making Wellness Enjoyable
Above all, LA emphasizes that wellness doesn’t have to feel like a chore. “I want Core to make exercising and taking care of yourself fun,” she shared. “It should be something you look forward to—something you enjoy because it makes you feel good.”
With its inviting atmosphere, personalized approach, and range of services, Core Healing and Wellness Studio promises to be a valuable addition to our community. Whether you’re curious about Pilates or eager to explore new wellness practices, this studio offers something for everyone.
Take note that she will be officially having her grand opening on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
As LA said, “Health is wealth. It’s the core of our existence.”
